FinovateEurope 2012 debuted a number of new financial services’s products and updates during its demos held today in London. Bank Innovation trolled the Finovate blog and Twitter hashtag to glean the freshest announcements. Here are seven new services that we discovered from our reading that struck us as interesting:
Company: Figlo
Product: Widget-Based Platform
Launch: Q2 2012
What: A new consumer portal that wants to help consumers better manage their finances on any device. From Figlo’s release:
It enables financial organizations to create customized offerings for Personal Finance Management, Financial Product Advice and Financial Planning based on widgets. The platform builder is not yet commercially available, but it will be available later this year.

Product: Mobile Banking App
Launch: February 2012
What: Sandstone hopes to help smaller institutions obtain presences in the app stores. From its release:
Using the latest html5 technology, Sandstone’s app can be developed once and then delivered seamlessly across all smart phone app stores to run on any smart phone mobile device. The registration process for the app locks the user to the device while page-fingerprinting technology ensures that fraudulent users will not be able to connect to the secure server.

Product: Luup Wallet Service
Launch: March 2012
What: A new service from Luup hopes to ease the challenges of tackling corporate and government travel authorization and budgets by allowing users to manage their travel budgets, for example, in Luup’s wallet. From its release:
Travel requests are a vital, daily and costly challenge for organisations. With Luup’s latest service, travel budgets are managed in Luup’s mobile wallet system which enables travel requests, authorisations and payments within minutes – from anywhere, on any mobile network or device. Gone are the days when employees have to chase managers for budget and trip approvals, while flight and other costs rise exponentially by the hour. The new service optimises processes, bringing substantial cost-savings, efficiency and productivity gains to Luup clients.

What: A mobile chip & PIN payment solution for tablets and smartphones that Handpoint says enables acquiring banks and MNOS to offer their customers a mobile payment platform under their own brand names.

Product: Card Customization Facebook App
Launch: January 2012
What: Serverside lets customers design cards using images from their Facebook photo galleries.

Company: Liqpay
Product: zip.liqpay.com
Launch: February 2012
What: Liqpay has relaunched it website. The company lets payment recipients shorten their payment details into digital codes for SMS and e-mail possibilities. Also, Zip.luiqpay.com has an API, which can be integrated into banks’ billing systems, among other companies.
