Bank of America, U.S. Bank digital status tools set them apart

Use of digital status platforms by Bank of America and U.S. Bank is setting the big banks apart from other top card-issuers in the United States. The two ranked at the top in Keynova Group ’s Q2 2025 Online Credit Card Scorecard report, which benchmarks 10 of the largest U.S. card issuers based on more than 350 objective criteria including: Functionality: Core digital capabilities for customers. Ease of use: Elements that enhance usability and access to information. Privacy and security: Customer-facing security features. Support and access: Customer support. The Keynova credit card report is conducted twice a year, Beth Robertson , managing director at Keynova Group, told Bank Automation News. Keynova analysts “use live authenticated site credentials so they can log on as if they are an existing card holder and view the experience as a card holder would.” The latest report found that leading FIs eliminated redundancies in their application processes, supplied status trackers for account management and added customized tools and education to their platforms. For example, the digital status platforms ultimately set Bank of America and U.S. Bank apart from institutions like Barclays , Capital One , Chase , Discover , PNC and Wells Fargo , according to the May report. In this report, Bank of America and U.S. Bank tied for first, followed by Discover. Status Dashboard [caption id="attachment_57372574" align="alignright" width="300"] Courtesy/U.S. Bank[/caption] U.S. Bank’s Status Dashboard, for one, stood out for analysts, Robertson said. The dashboard allows consumers to track the status of a balance transfer, dispute or submit a credit limit change request all in one place, she said. Other institutions offer status updates via pop-up or text alerts, but U.S. Bank has pulled its status updates into one encompassing platform. U.S. Bank’s Status Dashboard has added capabilities since its launch in 2023, Adam Winchester , head of experience for consumer and small business banking payments at U.S. Bank, told BAN . “That continues to set us apart from our peers as it allows customers an easy way to check in, relative to a more complex request that may be resolved within the same day,” Winchester said.
