Which of the nation’s 20 largest banks seem to have ticked off its customers most over the last year or so?
Try HSBC Bank, Sovereign Bank, RBS Citizens, TD Bank and SunTrust Banks.
Among the Top 20 banks by deposits in the nation, these five banks had the greatest rate of consumer complaints per 1 million deposit accounts, according to a Bank Innovation analysis of CFPB complaint data.
HSBC had nearly 108 consumer complaints per 1 million deposit accounts regarding its bank accounts and services from March 1, 2012, to date. That compares to just 7.21 complaints per millions of deposit accounts at Ally Bank.
The Top 20 banks with the fewest complaints per 1 million accounts were:
- Ally Bank
- Citibank
- Wells Fargo
- BB&T
- BMO Harris Bank
Bank of America, the nation’s largest bank, came in better than the mean with 31.43 complaints per 1 million deposit accounts.
