Citibank put together a humorous mobile banking ad with U.S. Olympic skier Ted Ligety, but they may have picked the wrong skier. Ligety has had a forgettable Olympics so far. He entered the Sochi games expected to carry home several medals, but instead it was his teammates, Andrew Weibrecht (silver) and Bode Miller (bronze), who stood on the medal stand for Team USA after yesterday’s Super G event. Kjetil Jansrud of Norway won the gold, and Canada’s Jan Hudec shared the bronze with Miller. Ligety finished 14th, and 12th in the super-combined last week.
Ligety has a chance to redeem himself at Wednesday’s Giant Slalom event, an event he won six times in the 2012-2013 season, including his fourth world cup championship.
