IBM, one of the world’s largest technology companies, has agreed to sponsor Bank Innovation Ignite, which explores new ideas and technologies needed to push banking forward.
Bank Innovation Ignite, March 11-12 in Seattle, offers high-level discussions and networking around the future of what’s next in banking.
IBM has increased its fintech practice in recent years. The company, which has a market capitalization of more than $111 billion, offers a range of fintech platforms. It also is highly engaged with thought leadership for the fintech space. IBM also signed an eight-year deal with BNP Paribas today to integrate IBM Cloud in the bank’s data centers.
Earlier this month, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty said the company was closer to bringing quantum computing to commercial applications. IBM introduced a quantum computing system — IBM Q System One — geared for commercial and scientific use at the CES trade show in Las Vegas earlier this month. Such “supercomputers” are considered to be largely in the experimental phase.
This is the first time IBM is sponsoring Bank Innovation Ignite.
