Conrgess has reached an agreement on the massive $700 billion bailout plan proposed by the Department of the Treasury, reports say.
Marketwatch is reporting that the $700 billion will be paid out in installments with the first $250 billion in bailout funds to be available immediately. Marketwatch termed the agreement “tentative.”
The Wall Street Journal quotes Republican Sen. Bob Bennett as saying that the plan is one that can “pass the House, pass the Senate (and) be signed by the president.”
