Backbase, the Bank 2.0 Portal specialist, today announced another step in its journey toward deeper integration with Web Content Management platforms. Its latest release, Backbase CMS 5.0, is a content creation, publication and replication application tailored for use with Backbase Portal. Backbase CMS is an add-on module to Backbase Portal, and available to customers that don’t have a robust WCMS solution in place.
“With Backbase CMS 5.0 we take another significant step toward realizing our goal of providing a seamless, end-to-end, customer engagement solution,” said Jouk Pleiter, Backbase CEO, commenting on the release.
Backbase CMS 5.0 is available as an add-on and features the following:
- Powered by Alfresco 3.4 Enterprise Edition, an established and robust enterprise content management system.
- Web applications for creating, reviewing, and publishing content.
- A combination of loosely coupled publishing platform and delivery network that delivers a scalable, high-availability, Content Management Solution (CMS).
- Support for replication from the content repository to the delivery network.
- Content types to promote consistency of content and associated meta data.
- Work flows for improved quality and optimization of the entire content management life cycle.
- Example applications that demonstrate content type and work flow customizations.
- Online technical documentation at http://docs.backbase.com/cms/5.0.
- Extensive platform support.
“Backbase Portal integrates well with Web Content Management (WCM) solutions, such as Fatwire, Adobe Day, SDL Tridion and OpenText, which are already in use by our end-customers. In addition to offering the CMS 5.0 add-on module, we invest in advanced integration patterns with 3rd party WCM vendors. As an example, in April 2011 we released an out-of-the-box, deep, integration pattern with SDL Tridion that leverages features unique to SDL Tridion’s Deployer architecture and capabilities such as Blueprinting,” commented Pleiter further.
