American Express was founded in 1850, but that hasn’t stopped PayPal from cribbing its playbook, apparently.
In a little-noticed blog Monday, PayPal effectively broadcast its plays to mimic American Express, as well as MasterCard and Visa, by offerings its customers rewards for using its service.
Starting Monday, PayPal users can redeem American Airlines, US Airways and Aeroplan miles for cash directly into PayPal accounts through PayPal’s partner, Points.com. The sell? That PayPal can convert points into cash, pronto.
