A new payments services for your cell phone is coming this spring.
MoBank will reportedly launch to provide mobile payments services in the United Kingdom. The venture recently hired Carrot Communications to handle its launch.
MoBank, which is a brainchild of former Egg and First Direct bankers, will initially be available on the iPhone. The service will hit Java, Google and BlackBerry phones later in 2009, according to Carrot.
Carrot says it will “create a campaign focusing heavily on digital media and word of mouth tactics, to seed use of the product among early adopters. This will be followed by a broader media campaign to build MoBank users. PR objectives are set against: positive message exposure to pre-defined audience groups; traffic to the MoBank site; and product downloads.”
MoBank will offer pay-on-the-go services, hoping to crack the illusive code on mobile payments.
