If you are going to take TARP money and need to testify before the New York State attorney general for possibly improper distribution of executive bonuses, fly a private jet. It’s so much better than commercial.
Ken Lewis knows that already. He is the latest CEO in hot water for flying a private jet to government hearing in New York to testify on BofA’s payments of bonuses to Merrill Lynch executives.
At least Lewis has an excuse:
“Because of the timing of this meeting, we felt it was necessary to use corporate aircraft,” said company spokesman Timothy Gilles.
And because of the timing of this blog, I’ll be flying private to my family reunion next month. Private is so much better.
