Saying mobile payment apps are on people’s minds is much like saying there’s some buzz on the Royal Wedding. In short: The space is increasingly attracting bigger crowds and more established players continue to enhance their offerings to stay in the game. Today’s news from Intuit Inc. showcases the latest play.
Intuit’s GoPayment app, which allows sellers to process credit cards, has found its way into the Apple store with a new layout and a number of enhancements, including the ability to add product photos, for the iPad.
“We definitely see iPad as a natural complement to our existing point of sale retail store solutions as more people look to process payments wherever they are – in a store, at an event or even at home,” said Chris Hylen, vice president and general manager of Intuit’s Payment Solutions division, in a statement.
This news comes on the heels of Square, which already has an iPad app, getting sales placement on Apple’s online store earlier this month.
