Community banking has a bright future despite a challenging economy and a host of regulatory changes, Federal Reserve Governor Elizabeth Duke said in a recent speech. She cited community banks’ important role in the U.S. financial system and their inherent advantages, including deep community ties, daily interaction between managers and customers, and flexibility.
