About 4% of all adults in the US are using location technologies, like Foursquare and Gowalla. Location technologies allow users to “check in” and let their friends know where they are.
But are they “checking in” at banks?
Turns out they are. (I know, I was surprised, too.)
So which bank has gotten the most Foursquare “check ins”? You guessed it (assuming you didn’t read the headline): Deutsche Bank at 60 Wall Street in New York with 1,607 check ins.
Since Foursquare was founded in New York, most of the banks leading in check-ins are located in the Big Apple. Top 10 are …
- Deutsche Bank at 60 Wall Street — 1,607
- Federal Reserve Bank at 33 Liberty — 540
- Bank of America at 150 Broadway — 275
- Bank of America at 222 Broadway — 240
- Brooklyn Bank at 301 Pearl Street — 202
- Chase Bank at 45 Wall Street — 170
- Bank of America Merrill Lynch at 250 Vesey Street — 152
- Bank of New York Mellon at 101 Barclay Street — 126
- TD Bank at 2 Wall Street — 120
- Bank of America at 260 Greenwich Street — 108
What are the ramifications of this? I’m not sure. I am open to suggestions, however.
