A blog by JJ Hornblass, the executive editor and publisher of BankInnovation.net, was featured in today’s New York Times.
Last week, JJ questioned the American Banker for deciding to bestow its Banker of the Year award, given the massive turmoil in the financial services industry.
“This is like crediting BofA for getting hit by slightly less shrapnel than the next grunt, which is not exactly award-worthy, in my opinion,” Hornblass wrote in his post.
Today’s article in the Times raised the same issues regarding the award. The article mentions gaffes made by other publications in spotlighting other companies and executives, only to see them fail shortly after.
