Vikram Pandit, former CEO of Citigroup, and Tom Glocer, ex-CEO of Thomson Reuters, will speak at Bank Innovation Israel.
Pandit and Glocer will participate in a special half-day portion of the Tel Aviv event presented by Davis Polk & Wardell and Naschitz Brandes Amir. Both Pandit and Glocer will do fireside chats on Nov. 10.
Bank Innovation Israel takes place Nov 10-11 at the Dan Tel Aviv.
Vikram Pandit, famously led Citigroup from December 2007 to October 2012, through the teeth of the credit crisis. He assumed the top position after selling his investment company, Old Lane Partners, to Citi for about $800 million. Pandit has made at least seven fintech investments since leaving Citi. Among his portfolio companies are Orchard Platform, which offers peer-to-peer lending-as-a-service; Fundbox, a provider of small business credit and services; FeeX, which exposes hidden fees in financial services; and CommonBond, a marketplace lending platform focused on education finance.
Tom Glocer, meanwhile, ran Thomson Reuters, one of the world’s largest information companies, from 2001 to 2012. He is credited with rescuing a struggling Reuters, which allowed for its eventual sale to Thomson Corp for about $17.2 billion in 2008. He, too, has been an active investor since his departure from his former employer. Glocer has made at least 20 investments, according to Crunchbase, some of which have been fintech startups, such as OpenFin and ShopKeep. He has also invested alongside Pandit in CommonBond and Orchard Platform.
Because of the support of Davis Polk and Naschitz Brandes Amir, there is no charge for the half-day event featuring Vikram Pandit and Tom Glocer. The sponsored half-day event, called “Rules of the Road,” will also include sessions on online lending compliance, payments, and emerging fintech technologies.
