Case Study – How BTM became One of Telecom New Zealand’s best payback projects of 2010!
I wanted to share a newly released case study with members of Bank Innovation. This case study features Telecom New Zealand.
Telecom New Zealand’s Gen-i business unit is one of the fastest-growing and most innovative information and communications technology (ICT) service providers in Australasia. Gen-i helps payment processors, acquirers and large retailers to reduce costs and improve service reliability by utilizing Telecom New Zealand’s public switched telephone network (PSTN) or multi- protocol label switching (MPLS) communications network, and Gen-i’s Service Delivery Platform for their payment connectivity services.
Here’s what Brian Shackleton, of Telecom New Zealand’s Gen-i business unit reports:
“INETCO Insight has given us full confidence in our ability to bill the correct transaction to the correct account. With INETCO Insight, we were able to see immediate improvements in our billing accuracy, with the number of ‘unidentified’ transactions decreasing by over 90%. In terms of spending money on capital projects, these billing improvements resulted in INETCO Insight being my best payback project for 2010.”
– Brian Shackleton, SLM Rural & Transactions, ICT Services – Gen-i (Telecom New Zealand)
INETCO has helped Gen-i to:
- Improve customer billing accuracy and verify correct transaction volumes
- Decrease the number of ‘unidentified’ transactions by 90%
- Mitigate the risk of service disruption associated with service upgrades
- Proactively identify performance issues such as improperly programmed POS terminals
- Build customized reports to analyze transactions based on platform, customer, transaction types, and ad hoc incidents
- Gather transaction intelligence without needing access to their customer’s payment switches
