Ian Putter, head of unified finance development & innovation at Standard Bank, Africa’s largest bank, will join Bank Innovation Ignite 2019 in Seattle in March 2019 to discuss the bank’s work in blockchain.
The event will take place March 11-12 at Seattle’s Hyatt Olive 8 Hotel. You can join the event by registering here. Standard Bank is a partner of Bank Innovation’s sister accelerator, INV Fintech.
Putter has more than 23 years’ experience in banking, which on the surface might make him seem an unlikely champion of blockchain. But Putter’s appetite for innovation only grown as he gained experience, and thanks to him, Standard has embraced blockchain in multiple real-world use cases. As a correspondent bank, Standard deals with many smaller banks throughout the continent, and used blockchains for transfers between them. In addition, there are more live use cases, as Putter will describe.
Bank Innovation Ignite will feature startup demos as well as sessions on data-sharing in the era of open banking, natural language banking, wealth management in the AI age, and much more. Attendees will also have the chance to seek advice and insights from fintech experts at the Innovation Bar.
Putter will join speakers from BBVA Compass, Fifth Third, Green Dot, Wells Fargo, HSBC, and more at the event. Register here.
