Bank of America, Fifth Third, Truist and Wells Fargo are directing clients affected by Hurricane Ian to online and mobile apps for 24/7 access to banking.

The hurricane, which made landfall in Florida on Wednesday with Category 4 winds, has left more than 1.8 million people without power in at least 20 counties in the state, according to reports. Hurricane Ian was expected to hit the South Carolina coast as a Category 1 storm Friday afternoon.

Fifth Third tweeted, “We stand ready to serve customers affected by #HurricanIan,” with a link to current information regarding branch closures, ATMs and online account access.

We stand ready to serve customers affected by #HurricaneIan. Please visit our Emergency Support page for current information regarding branch closures, ATMs, and how to continue access to your accounts 24/7. Stay safe! https://t.co/Nq27hXAGO8 pic.twitter.com/K9M3JVDgQn

“Customers can access their accounts and transfer money online or through our mobile banking app 24/7. We continue to follow local safety guidelines and are working to open impacted branches along with ensuring our ATMs are operational as soon as possible,” a Fifth Third spokesperson told Bank Automation News.

Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo tweeted a website support page that reads, “We’re committed to working with organizations and agencies in your area to support recovery efforts in the coming days and weeks.”

We are continuing to monitor Hurricane Ian and its potential impact on our customers, employees, and operations. Those in the storm’s path should follow the instructions of local authorities. Click for more information.

Through the bank’s mobile app, customers can deposit checks, send and receive money, tap to pay, and access mortgage or small business accounts.

Additionally, Wells Fargo crisis resources include access to payment plans and tools for credit cards, mortgages and car payments. “Stay safe, and we hope for a quick recovery for all impacted,” the bank’s website said.

Bank of America

Similarly, Bank of America tweeted a reminder to clients that they can stay connected to their accounts via its mobile app.

Our thoughts are with those impacted by #hurricaneIan. Please be safe. You can stay connected to your accounts or check for banking center closures using our mobile app or go to https://t.co/UJbGSuksTS. For general banking needs, contact our customer service at 800-432-1000.
