E-bill platform Citi Present and Pay has integrated with digital payment service Spring by Citi to create an electronic bill presentment and digital payment acceptance capability for Citi’s institutional clients.
The solution allows Citi customers to provide digital billing and collect payments through one technical integration, according to a release.

“The integration of Spring by Citi with Citi Present and Pay is targeted at helping institutional billers address pain points associated with accepting digital payments,” Chris Chazin, director of emerging receivables and instant payments at Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions, told Bank Automation News.
The integration — which was complete in four months including development, testing and internal approvals — provides multiple payment options including credit, debit, ACH direct debit, real-time requests for payment and digital wallets, according to the release. The solution also allows clients to receive and pay their bills via web, mobile, email SMS text and voice services.
Citi Present and Pay and Spring by Citi will continue to operate standalone services as needed; however, the combined offerings are available through a series of APIs, which “[allows organizations] to integrate the platform’s services seamlessly in other existing websites or mobile applications,” Chazin told BAN.
The solution is expected to save clients time and money by eliminating the need for external partnerships, Chazin said, noting, “With the Spring by Citi integration, [Citi Present and Pay] clients have access to a broader set of payment methods that previously would have required a connection to and contract with an external third party.”
