Once again, Bank Innovation has teamed with the Open Bank Project to conduct a research initiative surrounding the use of APIs in banking.
Specifically, Bank Innovation and the Open Bank Project will undertake a research survey to better understand how banks worldwide are prioritizing API initiatives and why. We intend for the query to uncover the drivers behind the banking industry’s current API practices.
The query is digital and we invite industry participants to share their perspectives on APIs. Results of the query will be published on Bank Innovation, as well as analyzed by the Open Bank Project. Responses will remain anonymous.

Simon Redfern, founder and CEO of the Open Bank Project, announced the research initiative yesterday at Money20/20 in Copenhagen.
The Open Bank Project, based in Berlin, is an open-source API and app store for banks, providing a digital ecosystem of third-party applications and services. Bank Innovation and the Open Bank Project collaborated on a similar query last year, analysis of which can be found here. Open Bank Project is also an API partner of the Bank Innovation INV fintech accelerator.
