Core provider Finastra will use UiPath’s cloud-based robotic process automation (RPA) solution to allow partners to build and sell automations to the financial market.

The U.K.-based financial software company is among the new or expanded partnerships UiPath highlighted Wednesday during its fourth-quarter earnings call.
“Additionally, Finastra expects to include UiPath capabilities in their own offerings, which they will monetize directly with their customers,” UiPath co-founder and CEO Daniel Dines said during the call.
UiPath reported non-generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Q4 revenue of $289.7 million, a 39% year-over-year increase. Its annual recurring revenue (ARR), which is a metric for subscription businesses with term subscriptions, clocked in at $925.3 million for Q4, a 59% YoY increase.
Net new ARR in Q4 was $106.9 million, a 72% YoY increase.
Dines also highlighted how Paychex — a Rochester, N.Y.-based provider of human resource, payroll and benefit services — has used UiPath’s RPA solution to save more than 425,000 manual hours, with more than 35 million bought transactions. The company now has more than 40 workflows in production, he noted. Paychex is also using UiPath’s intelligent automation capabilities for test mining and process mining, which has helped the company identify opportunities to save another 40,000 hours annually, Dines added.
The war in Ukraine: A personal connection
While UiPath’s headquarters are in the United States, the company was founded in Bucharest, Romania, near Ukraine. Dines made a point of discussing his personal connection to the ongoing conflict.
“For me, this is very emotional. I grew up in Romania when it was still under communist control,” he said. “So, I understand the freedoms the Ukrainians are fighting to protect.”
UiPath has “meaningful business in Europe,” including in Ukraine and Russia, where it has paused its business dealings, Dines said. The company estimated its impact on Russia is $16 million, said CFO Ashish Gupta.
“I can tell you firsthand, this war is having a profound impact on the sense of physical and economic security across the continent and in the U.K.,” Dines said. “We are also starting to hear customers in the U.S. express reservations about both political uncertainty and rising interest rates.”
Because of this, he said the company believes it is prudent to guide by assuming the uncertainty will continue.
The UiPath team has donated more than $1.5 million in support of Ukraine, and employees across the region have opened their homes to refugees, Dines added.
“We have also made our automation platform available to work on innovations like [the] International Red Cross, which is using automation to manage millions of dollars of donations, and we will continue to look for ways to help,” he said.
