Santander U.K. selected NCR Corporations’ NCR ATM-as-a-Service technology to run its ATM network to manage the bank’s network of more than 1,700 ATMs across the U.K.
The service allows the bank to pass its operational management including the software, transaction processes, cash management and ATM monitoring needs, according to an NCR release.

“Moving to NCR ATM as a Service will enable us to offer customers a better self-service banking experience, including greater ATM availability to serve them when and where they choose,” Kirsty Lacey, chief operating officer of everyday banking at Santander, said in the release, noting, “It will also simplify our operations and provide a more sustainable service for the bank.”
Santander U.K. and NCR have a long-standing partnership and this latest addition brings an extended value to the relationship, according to the release.
Business banking platform Tide acquires Funding Options
Business banking platform Tide announced the acquisition of credit marketplace Funding Options Tuesday. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cloud-based Funding Options uses data analytics, open banking APIs and AI to auto-decision loans, according to a release.
“Securing finance is often an issue for small businesses, but Funding Options ensures there are no confusing products, complex application forms and long waits,” Tide Chief Executive Oliver Prill said in the release.
The deal marks Tide’s first acquisition, however, Prill noted “It won’t be the last.”
Prill said further acquisitions are on the horizon as Tide looks to expand in the U.K and globally.
Neo bank HYPE selects Onfido for automated identity verification
Italy-based neo bank HYPE chose automated identity verification and authentication solution provider Onfido to improve the user experience of its mobile application.
HYPE’s mobile app offers payments, transfers, savings management and cashback, according to an Onfido release. As the neo bank has expanded its offerings its usership has grown resulting in a need for streamlined onboarding and enhanced identify verification.
“Our integration with Onfido means we can offer users an unparalleled banking starting at onboarding,” HYPE Chief Executive Luca Grampioggia said in the release.
In addition to verifying users, the partnership also reduces the onboarding time from 24 hours to “just a few minutes,” according to the release.
“With Onfido’s support of over 2,500 identity documents, HYPE is able to scale its business while creating a fast and frictionless end-to-end digital process for their users,” Oliver Krebs, senior vice president of EMEA at Onfido said in the release.
