Santander Bank plans to build on its 2024 innovation efforts in 2025 following the launch of five digital cash management solutions for its commercial clients this year.
The U.S.-based commercial bank’s product launches are built with a combination of “in-house technology and expertise, APIs and understanding our clients’ technology to create straight-through processing,” Michael Lee, senior executive vice president and managing director of commercial banking at Santander Bank, told Bank Automation News.
In 2024 the $89.5 billion bank launched the following five digital cash management solutions for its commercial clients:
- Digital checks;

- Virtual mobile wallet commercial cards;
- An online self-service escrow platform available 24/7;
- Biller express, which allows customers to initiate one-time and recurring ACH and card payments; and
- eLockbox, which provides faster access to funds, reconciliation and posting.
Next year, the commercial bank will focus on automation to reduce manual tasks while improving speed and security measures through technology, according to a Nov. 14 Santander release.
Specifically, the bank plans to invest in its mobile check deposit solution, allowing for more offerings “on the go,” according to the release.
“We work with our clients to provide a tailored solution,” Lee said.
