Banco Santander and Google have teamed up to offer an AI course.

The on-demand course is live on the bank’s Santander Open Academy Platform and is free to anyone over 16, according to a July 9  Santander release.

“This course provides valuable tools to boost job skills and generate greater competitiveness and seamless adaptation to the current and future demands of the job market,” Rafael Hernandez, global head of Santander Universities, the bank’s grant, scholarship and internship for higher education program, said in the release.

Forest Park Bank selects Jack Henry for digital banking

The $300 million Forest Park Bank has selected Jack Henry to improve its digital banking offerings.

The Chicago-based bank will use Jack Henry’s Banno Digital Platform to improve online banking, contactless payments, digital wallet offerings and digital onboarding, a Jack Henry release stated.

Forest Park Bank will also use Jack Henry’s Financial Crime Defender solution for real-time fraud detection and Banking Secrecy Act compliance, the release stated.

It can take up to a year to onboard a financial institution to Jack Henry’s platform, a Jack Henry spokesperson told Bank Automation News.

“It is essential for banks to engage in thorough planning to ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding process,” the spokesperson said. “The more planning and effort invested, the smoother the process and the more successful the relationship will be.”

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank teams up with Silent Eight for compliance

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank has selected Silent Eight to provide AI-driven solutions to fight financial crimes, according to Silent Eight’s June 27 release.

Silent Eight’s solution will enable ADIB to improve auditability and efficiency by automating the screening process for onboarding new clients, the release stated.

“The drive to automate financial crimes is fairly consistent across the globe as organizations look to embrace technologies that they may have had experience in other areas of their organizations,” Ben Rayner, regional head, UKIMEA at Silent Eight, told BAN.

Silent Eight uses AI to track suspicious transactions along with keeping track of current sanctions while onboarding a client to help FIs reduce financial crime, Martin Markiewicz, chief executive of the company, previously told BAN.

The $192 billion ADIB will go live with Silent Eight in September, Rayner said. Other clients include HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Emirates NBD and AIA.
